Middle school is one of the biggest transitions a child experiences.
A new campus.
New teachers.
New expectations.
New schedules.
New classmates.
For many students, the excitement of moving up is accompanied by uncertainty. Questions begin to surface long before the first bell rings:
Schools work hard to support this transition, but traditional orientation days often focus on logistics—maps, schedules, classroom assignments, and rules. While those things matter, they do not always address the question students are really asking:
“Do I belong here?”
At Kid Healthy SPORTS™, we believe students perform better when they feel connected before the school year begins.
That’s why we created Bridge Camp™.
Bridge Camp is a high-energy, sports-based transition experience designed specifically for incoming middle school students. In a single structured morning, students move, compete, laugh, collaborate, and build authentic peer relationships that carry into the school year.
Students don’t simply learn where the cafeteria is.
They begin to feel like they already belong.
The transition to middle school creates a unique opportunity.
Schools have a small window before the first day to shape school culture and create positive first impressions.
Bridge Camp helps schools use that window intentionally.
Instead of students arriving on Day 1 surrounded by strangers, many arrive already recognizing faces, remembering names, and feeling more comfortable entering a new environment.
That confidence matters.
Because students who feel connected walk onto campus differently.
Bridge Camp does not rely on lectures, icebreakers, or students sitting in rows listening to presentations.
Students learn through movement and shared experiences.
In one 3.5-hour session, students rotate through 8 interactive activity stations in small randomized groups.
Because groups are intentionally mixed, students connect with peers they may not otherwise meet.
By the end of the session, students often know dozens of new classmates—not just the friends they arrived with.
Every station combines physical activity with a meaningful social-emotional skill.
Students practice the skills rather than simply hearing about them.
Students learn teamwork, communication, and how individual choices affect group success.
Students discover the impact of supporting teammates and creating positive group energy.
Students experience firsthand how groups succeed when everyone works together.
Students learn strategic thinking, collaboration, and problem solving.
Fast-paced games create opportunities for students to practice emotional regulation and decision-making under pressure.
Students strengthen teamwork and accountability while having fun.
Bridge Camp reinforces six core life skills that students can carry into the school year:
These skills support positive school culture and align naturally with broader social-emotional learning initiatives.
Students often describe Bridge Camp as:
“fun”
“active”
“welcoming”
“better than regular orientation”
But behind that energy is intentional structure.

When a student steps onto that stage and presents the meal they designed from
scratch — confident, prepared, and proud — that moment happened because someone chose to show up for them. The first day of school shapes the weeks and months that follow.
Students who feel connected arrive differently.
They participate differently.
They learn differently.
Bridge Camp™ helps students walk onto campus with confidence—because they already know someone, already feel welcomed, and already feel like they belong.
Summer dates fill quickly.
