Kid Healthy and Northgate Market invite you to Cooking up Change®, a dynamic culinary competition that puts student voices front-and-center in the national dialogue about school food. Working within the constraints schools face every day, Orange County students are creating delicious, nutritious school lunches that their peers will enjoy. The winning team will travel to Washington, D.C. in June to compete against teams from across the country in the Cooking up Change® national finals. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the students and sample their tasty creations, participate in a silent auction and cast votes for their favorite after-school snacks. Please join us for this exciting event!

Launched in Orange County in 2003, Kid Healthy seeks to eliminate health disparities by engaging school children and families from the most distressed, vulnerable and underserved communities of Southern California through culturally appropriate obesity prevention programs that measurably improve nutrition and fitness levels.
Kid Healthy is proud to have celebrated ten years of working in schools, youth agencies, community organizations, and after school sites to combat the rising trend of childhood obesity in Southern California. To date, we've impacted over 500,000 students, parents, and teachers. Working in collaboration with public and private non-profit agencies, Kid Healthy has put into place activities aimed to encourage students, teachers, and families to make healthy food choices and increase their physical activity.
The Kid Healthy Nutrition Education Material and Activity Plan closely mirror First Lady Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" Campaign.
Kid Healthy and the "Let's Move" Campaign support:
Offering parents the tools and information they need to make better decisions about their children's nutrition
Getting healthier foods in schools
Improving the accessibility and affordability of healthy foods
Increasing opportunities for kids to play and move more
